STW is a handmade sewing business that creates functional items from fabric for the kitchen, home decor, and personal use.

"Handcrafted fabric items that are both functional and decorative"

You purchased a uniquely handmade item. You have bought more than an object. You bought hundreds of hours of trial and error, weeks and months of frustration and joy as your item(s) were being created. You purchased a piece of the heart and soul of the sewist who spent many hours making it uniquely for you. Most importantly, because of your purchase, you bought the sewist more time to continue doing what they love. SEW!Are all of your items really handmade?
I get this question alllll the time. Along with comments like “your items are too well-made, this can’t be handmade. etc." YES! The items sold under the Stitches That Wander name are Handmade! I understand why people question this, as nowadays you can find many cheap knock-offs of what appear to be handmade items. Rest assured that all items are handmade.Do you take special orders?
Kindly, the answer is No. There are not enough sewing hours in the day to create special orders in addition to what we make for the markets and events we are involved with. When will you "______" back in stock?
We sew seasonally, which means our items are constantly changing from one Market Season to the Next. We only produce a small core set of items on a regular basis. You will hear me quite frequently say at the markets, "This is the last of what I have," or "When these sell out, that is it." These statements are not sales pitches; I do genuinely mean it. So the next time you shop with us, if you see something you like, don't wait to buy it. There are occasions when we do bring back an item, but even then, it will be made with different fabrics, etc.Do you sell ALL your items online?
Currently no. My main online store is offline as I am in the process of moving. I am currently packing up my sewing studio and home to get ready for the move. I encourage you to support the wonderful AZ local year-round market that I have had the sincere pleasure to be a part of over the last several years: https://getlocalarizonaevents.com/Where do you get your fabric from?
All our fabric creations are made from a mix of new and recycled fabrics, either pre-washed or not, depending on how we acquired them. 85% of the time, all fabrics we use are pre-washed.* STW is not liable for any cause or effect from washing or using its products. Please see the return policy below for more info. The beauty of handmade things is in the little imperfections.RETURN POLICY:

SEWIST - FIBER ARTIST - SEWING / ARTS & CRAFT TEACHER
I am Luna, a Sewist & Fabric Artist who enjoys creating functional and artistic items from fabric, as well as designing patterns and sewing kits.My side hobbies are collecting fabric, discovering local coffee shops, and traveling with my husband and little dog. In my day-to-day life, I enjoy reading books and am fueled by coffee and Jesus.I also teach group sewing and arts & crafts workshops. Reach out to me via email at [email protected]
if you are interested in group workshops. (Please note I am in the middle of moving currently, so all workshops are on hold until my move is complete. Thank You)It takes a village:
As a small business owner, I wear all the hats, and it’s an over-40-hour work week. I am the social media tech, accountant, artist, designer, website designer, inventory manager, fabric and supply buyer, sewist, teacher, booking agent for all markets and events, booth layout designer, and manufacturer of all items. I am constantly working on my small business and sewing to keep up with inventory. It does, however, take a village, as they say, to get it all done. I am blessed to have two people in my life who have signed up to volunteer for jobs they never applied for and don’t get paid for. Many of you have met my Mom, AKA Tony, at the various markets and events. She helps me out in SO many ways. She helps run the booth with me at markets and events, sew items, design patterns, and products that I sell in my booth at the various markets and events.I also have my Husband, Mike, who is the muscle behind the scenes, who transports, carries, and helps us set up and take down the booth each time. How it started:
My interest/hobby in sewing began when I was around 5 years old. Sewing and working with fabrics have been the one constant in my life. Now, as an adult, I not only still enjoy sewing but also create sewing patterns and teach others to sew.Over time, this has evolved from a hobby into an official business in 2024. Like many hobbyists who enjoy making things for others, I began to hear, "You should sell this; people would totally love this," "What pattern did you use to make this?" "Do you sell your patterns?" and "Can you teach me to sew?" and so on.So, I started having friends and family test my patterns and fabric items. From there, I went through the process of turning my hobby into an official business once I had a set of starter items to launch with.Sewist vs Seamstress
I often get asked if I alter clothes. No, I am not a seamstress; I am a Sewist and Fiber Artist. What is the difference, you ask?
A seamstress is someone who creates and/or alters clothing.A Sewist, which is what I am, is someone who creates sewn works of art using fabric and makes practical, functional items. Why is it called Stitches That Wander?
For as long as I can remember, I have been a mixed-media artist and sewist. I have tried just about every arts-and-crafts project out there.I named the business Stitches That Wander because, although sewing and artfully working with fabric are my primary focus,
I also enjoy dabbling in painting and working with wire and clay (I used to have a pottery studio).I like to say that I let my stitches wander at times into other arts and crafts mediums. From time to time, depending on the market, you may find seasonal non-fabric items that I have also created.
